January got its name from the Roman god Janus, who was a god of all beginnings
Februa was a cleansing festival in ancient times that was held in early spring which was seen as a time of rebirth and renewal
I believe March is a variant of the name of the warrior god Mars
April is a loose form of the Latin word aperit or to open because it is the time of year when flowers begin to bloom
May is a variant of Maia who was the mother of the mythical god Mercury
June is a variant of Juno who was a godess that was wed to Jupiter
July is in honor of Julius Caesar
August honors Augustus Caesar
I am actually not sure of the rest, good question
All the months have Roman names. January is the month of the god Janus; February the month of Februa, the goddess of purification; March the month sacred to Mars, the god of war; April is the "opening" month, from aperire, to open, as flowers and trees then blossom ; May is named after Maia, the mother of Mercury, June after the goddess Juno, July after Julius Caesar, and August after the Emperor Augustus; September, October, November and December were originally the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth months of the old Roman year. When the year was made to begin with January instead of March the old names were retained, though some were no longer correct.

My earnings have gone down by half as much per day in January, 2018. Did something change to the earnings program. My page views have not gone down though. So what's going on?

No!! So, why should we Christians continue using the Gregorian Calendar which confused us totally? Originally, January was the 11th month on that calendar and the 12th month was February. And it was more closely related to the Biblical Calendar, which began around March-April.
